DonoLink vs Ko-fi: which support platform fits your stream?
Looking for a Ko-fi alternative for streamers? DonoLink combines an iDEAL donation page with live alerts and OBS widgets. Ko-fi is a broader creator platform and also offers stream alerts. Compare your daily workflow and total fees. This comparison is written by DonoLink.
A donation platform or a broader creator page?
DonoLink organises the workflow around your stream: a payment arrives, appears in donation history and can update an alert or donation goal. Ko-fi also offers memberships, a shop and commissions. If those features matter to your business, include them in your decision. Switching mainly makes sense when your current donation flow lacks something you would actually use.
Comparing fees: check Contributor status too
According to Ko-fi, new accounts start with Contributor status: a 5% service fee on one-time tips. You can turn it off for a 0% Ko-fi service fee on those tips. Payment processing costs remain separate; other services can have their own fees. Compare your actual Ko-fi settings and processor with DonoLink's pricing page. DonoLink is therefore not automatically the cheapest option.
Compare stream alerts and OBS overlays
Both platforms offer stream alerts. When choosing, test how you customise the appearance, preview a notification and manage unwanted messages. In DonoLink you can create donation variants by amount and use donation goal, recent donation and leaderboard overlays. A useful trial is to view an alert on your own scene, with a long message and your usual background.
Switch from Ko-fi to DonoLink
First create your new page, connect Stripe and check the payment flow. Then configure your OBS alert and replace support links across your channels. DonoLink supports importing Ko-fi donation history. Keep the original export and check imported amounts. Importing history does not move a balance, existing supporters or ongoing payment arrangements.
Your account and OBS overlays are free. For a standard iDEAL donation, DonoLink charges 3.5%; Stripe separately charges €0.29 per payment. There is no subscription. Check the pricing page for fees by payment method.
